Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake
Exceptional, confident, masculine and attractive – the design of the CLS Shooting Brake emanates passion and confidence. It is thus an inimitable reflection of the excitingly distinguished lifestyle of those highly discerning customers that have already admitted to their fascination by the four-door CLS CoupĂ© and its internationally acclaimed design.
From the cockpit to the luggage compartment, the interior is distinguished through the highest-quality details, reminiscent of an artisan's opus. Equally distinguishing is the diversity of options for individualisation. The optional designo wooden luggage compartment floor conveys the elegance of a yacht's wooden deck combined with an undercurrent of fascination for technology and precision. Select hand-crafted American Cherry veneers and smoked oak inlays, cut into three-millimetre strips by high-precision lasers, refine the design of the luggage compartment floor. The brushed aluminium strips not only protect the wood's surface but also prevent any luggage from sliding around.
Offers up to 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS)
Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2012 CLS 63 AMG at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Designed for fashion conscious automotive extremists, the CLS 63 AMG features a new hood, modified bumpers, a revised grille, and unique front fenders. Other features include an aggressive rear diffuser, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, LED daytime running lights and 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the sporty cabin boasts burl walnut trim (piano black and carbon fiber trim are optional), AMG sports seats, and a three-spoke steering wheel with aluminum shift paddles.
Power is provided by a 5.5-liter biturbo engine which produces 518 hp (386 kW / 525 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. It is paired to a seven-speed Speedshift MCT transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and hit an electronically limited 155 mph (250 km/h).
If that isn't fast enough, the optional AMG Performance Package boosts output to 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the dash from 0-60 mph takes 4.3 seconds and the top speed is 186 mph (299 km/h).
To ensure the super saloon is up to the task being a legitimate sports car, engineers installed an AMG adaptive suspension (with Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes), a wider front axle, a revised electro-hydraulic steering system, and high-performance cross-drilled brakes.
No word on pricing, but the 2012 CLS 63 AMG will go on sale in United States this summer.

Ai Design Mercedes CLS 55 custom built for DC Shoes co-founder Ken Block
Ai Design
has announced the
completion and delivery of a striking looking,
performance tuned 2006 Mercedes CLS 55
commissioned by DC Shoes Co-Founder, Ken Block. The astonishing appearance of the
sedan, finished in matte black from tip to tail, is accented by a vented hood and
gleaming orange Brembo racing brake calipers at all four wheels. “It was a pleasure to
work with a client who had strong ideas about what he wanted,” commented Ai Design
president Matthew Figliola. “Mr. Block certainly appreciated our design sensibilities
pertaining to this project, however he was clearly capable of making critical decisions
along the way,” Figliola added.
Ai Design began by upgrading the heart of the CLS 55 using Brabus K8 engine tuning
components yielding 575 horsepower. The CLS 55 breathes easily through Brabus twintip
sport exhaust mufflers that peek out from behind a tailor-made Brabus rear bumper
diffuser. Handling has been dramatically enhanced utilizing a Brabus electronic
suspension lowering module, combined with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires wrapped around
Radenergie R10 20-inch wheels. Brembo 8-piston racing brake calipers mate to 15-inch
rotors up front, while 4-piston calipers and 13.6-inch rotors have been fitted to the rear
wheels.
The exterior appearance of Block’s CLS 55 is a departure from tradition within any
segment of the custom car craze—a matte black finish has been applied to all body
panels, and in contrast, the chrome trim has been finished in a glossy piano black, giving
the sleek sedan an almost menacing appearance. Tail and side marker lamps have all
been tinted, and a bronze-cast DC Shoes logo, hand-sculpted by a jeweler
commissioned by Ai Design, has also been finished in piano black and affixed to the
trunk alongside the factory emblem. The front bumper, carbon fiber grill, vented hood
(used to keep the tweaked power-plant cool), side skirt panels, and trunk lid spoiler (all
from Brabus) round out the list of exterior accoutrements.
In order to give Block better access to the gear selector in the manual shift mode, Ai
Design fitted the CLS 55 with a Brabus sport steering wheel fitted with paddle shifters.
Vehicle side and trunk ground illumination was added for the ultimate in luxury and
convenience, and the DC Shoes logo was embroidered into each of the car’s four
interior headrests. Ai Design’s famed V1 radar detection system with etched rearview
mirror display and an iPod/MOST interface complete the package.
“I truly enjoyed working with Ai Design—their quality craftsmanship and attention to
detail is far beyond the work done for me by other shops,” stated Mr. Block at the
completion of the project.
Lorinser Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe
This is the latest work from the automobile tuner Sportservice Lorinser on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. Redesigning the car entirely, the new tuning program brings even more uniqueness to the Mercedes E-Class. The front of the car tuning
features a new grille, and a stylish new bumper with LED integrated
daytime running lights. Completing the transformation is the rear bumper
with lip attached, and a diffuser-like add-on. The side skirts feature
an air vent while enhancing the dynamic stance of the Mercedes-Benz.
The guys from Lorinser offer several different wheel packages for their customers to choose from. Recently developed are the RS9 20-inch lightweight alloy wheel from the tuning firm. They also hooked up the Benz E-Class coupe with a suspension lowering spring kit to drop the center of gravity by 30 mm at both the front, and rear axles. The interior received a few upgrades such as a new instrument cluster, aluminum pedals, Lorinser floor mat, and custom illuminated door sills.

2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class getting upgraded V6, twin-turbo V8
The hardcore Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG isn't the only E-Class model that gets a new heart for the 2012 model year. According to our sources within Mercedes-Benz, both the E350 and E550 models will receive new powerplants currently found elsewhere in the automaker's lineup.
The base E350 will now be powered by the automaker's new 3.5-liter V6 with direct-injection, an engine that we recently tested in the C350 sedan and SLK350 roadster. Rated at 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, the new engine provides power increases of 14 hp and 15 lb-ft over the current V6, while the use of direct-injection and a seven-speed automatic transmission will no doubt return improved fuel economy.
Moving along, the eight-cylinder E550 will ditch its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter unit with direct-injection, currently found in the CL550 coupe. In the E-Class, this engine will be good for 402 hp and 443 lb-ft – improvements of 20 and 52, respectively.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe by Domanig
The Domanig C63 AMG Coupe adds 38 hp to the already powerful Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe that comes standard with 487 hp. In case you don’t feel like doing the math, that means the Domanig C63 AMG Coupe offers up 525 hp. Combine that with a V-max increase and the AMG Coupe can do 300 km/ h (186 mph) with ease.
If the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe isn’t sporty enough for you, the Domanig C63 Coupe gets front wheels forged from DOM03 type in the dimensions 9 × 20″ with 235/30ZR20 Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tires used on the rear axle even 10.5 × 20″ with 275/25ZR20 Dunlop Sport Maxx GT. The wheels are a special edition with a star in the body color and outer rims in black high-gloss polished stainless steel.
In addition to the wheel upgrade, the coupe gets a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser with blacked out roof.
The KW suspension components are not only used to improve handling but also to enhance the looks by lowering the car.
On the interior, trims and accents are painted in coupe’s body color.
Thanks to Markus for the tip.
What customers are saying
"Everyone was great (Sulindar, PJ, and reception gal). The used car manager, Joel was also fair and honest. We will be doing further business at MB of Bakersfield - even though it is a little farther for us to travel."
